Dr. Woodcock joined the FDA in 1986. She has held various positions including overseeing the approval of the first biotechnology based treatments for multiple sclerosis and cystic fibrosis. Currently, she is the director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research which ensures that drugs in the USA are safe and effective.
