Joan Steitz is a Professor at the Yale School of Medicine, an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Steitz continues to study RNA splicing, and her lab has identified several other types of RNPs. While Steitz’s science is renowned, she is also applauded for her mentoring and teaching skills
