Julie Huber is an Associate Scientist of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, MA. Before joining the Oceanographic Institute, Huber was an Associate Scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory, also in Woods Hole, for 10 years. Her lab studies the microbial life found in the unique, and largely unstudied, environment of the deep seafloor. Dr. Huber received a B.S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College and a PhD in Biological Oceanography from the University of Washington. Huber has received a number of awards for her research including a L’Oreal USA Fellowship for Women in Science in 2007 and a Kavli Frontiers of Science Fellowship in 2017.
